The first species (R.leguminosarum) was identified in 1889, and all further species placed in the Rhizobium genus. However, more advanced methods of analysis have revised this Classification and now there are many in other genera.Rhizobium is still sometimes used as the singular of Rhizobia. Most research has been done on crop and forage legumes such as Clover, beans, and soy. However, recently more work is occurring on indigenous legumes. It is known that legumes enrich the soil by contributing nitrogen through symbiotic nitrogen fixation by Rhizobium through centuries. However, scientific demonstration of value of legumes in contributing nitrogen nutrition of plants was only done in 19 th Century. This was established by the facts that nodules on legume roots are responsible for fixing atmospheric nitrogen through bacterium Rhizobium. Due to new technological development a substantial contribution in increasing production of legumes besides improving M. fertility of soil, is made. This is liquid based bio-fertilizer containing Rhizobium spp. It lives around and inside the roots of legumes. It fixes atmospheric nitrogen in the range of 100-200 Kg N/ha in the soil and increase 10-35% yield. It makes better germination, root & shoot growth of the plant. It is scientifically analyzed formulation having high potency for biological Nitrogen fixation. Approved by state government.
